Wee bit of footy history here, some nice pics on the linked news page (scroll down) as Robben finally has to retire.

Robben's final goodbye

Arjen Robben hoped to play out his final season at the Euroborg stadium but injuries put paid to that.

The fans' banner refers to him coming back home where he began.

Trying to think of a Hibs legend who has done similar but none of the recent ones have played at the very top like Arjen. Will miss his jinky wee runs and shots out of nowhere.

Arjen bedankt!

Some career he’s had. We made it over to a ‘Der Klassiker’ a few years back and he was the standout player, even outshining Lewandowski. Not many better players for cutting back onto their left peg and banging one into the far corner!!

Excellent post.
We have had two who have come "back home", being Bobby Johnstone, who played at the very top, with Hibs and with Manchester City, and then, of course, Joe Baker, who benefitted greatly from Johnstone's return, and then crafted his own mercurial career. Perhaps not in the same era as Robben, but equally as talented.
