On the one hand I'd quite like him to stay to see their usual bottle job when there's a bit pressure on them playing in full stadiums. On the other if I don't have to hear his nasally, whiney annoying scouse voice ever again I'll die a lot happier.
I’d say Walter Smith did pretty well but wouldn’t call him a big success.Has an ex old firm manager ever been a big success in the top English league?
Only one I can think of, who's done pretty well is Brendon Rodgers and he doesn't really count, given he'd already done well there prior to the Smellies

I was wrong. Not convinced he is going to take the Villa job.
I'd agree he done ok, steadied a sinking ship with limited resources. But as you say, not a big successI’d say Walter Smith did pretty well but wouldn’t call him a big success.
Big success?Martin O'Neill didn't do too bad
Aye, forgot about him. Had a good run at Villa and started off well at Sunderland. Not sure he was a big success at either but you're right, he didn't do too bad at all. However, as with Rodgers he already had a pretty good reputation down south as a manager. It wasn't uncharted waters for him.Martin O'Neill didn't do too bad
And lets not forget about Alex Neil...Aye Martin O’Neill did very well at Aston Villa
Walter Smith had a decent run at Everton.
Graeme Souness done well after leaving the Huns.
Brendan Rogers has done an excellent job at Leicester City.
Gerrard is nowhere near as good as those names above. He won the league in a fan-less season and has failed in all six attempts to win a cup, despite having by far the second biggest budget in the country.
I thought they didn't do "Walking Away".
He'll pro
Wouldn't be surprised at that.I thought they didn't do "Walking Away".
He'll probably try and sign Porto!
Slipped away more likeI thought they didn't do "Walking Away".

Think he had villa 5th or 6th 2 years in a row before it went tits up at Sunderland?Big success?

Hopefully him walking away screws them up especially before the semi. He knows there’s no future with a broke ass zombie club!
I wonder if he knows there an impending collapse coming at the Huns, hence him jumping ship now. Aston Villa are historically a big club, but currently the best they can really hope for is somewhere between top 10 and avoiding relegation.
Thick zombie cvnts can't figure out why he'd leave them for villa. Did they not see their financial accounts the other day? Plus villa will probably give him a couple of hundred million to spend. Huns are "bigger" thoughI wonder if he knows there an impending collapse coming at the Huns, hence him jumping ship now. Well they will be expecting better than that otherwise he won't last long there.I wonder if he knows there an impending collapse coming at the Huns, hence him jumping ship now. I reckon Villa have the potential to be about 5th in the Premiership especially when you look at how clubs like Leicester and this season West Ham have done. If he was to do as well as say Rodgers has done then he would be in the frame for the Liverpool job when Klopp finishes up there.
He hasNot convinced he is going to take the Villa job.
