Financial implications of a Covid struck championship

I've been wondering whether Hearts are going to suffer that much from playing a season in the championship during Covid, compared to if they'd played it in a normal season with fans attending. I'm not that clued up on money stuff, would they have lost out more getting poor ticket sales due to away sales being low, or their own fans not attending boring games, had fans been allowed in? Obviously poor performances would mean they'd have less sales, and their loss to the mighty Brora means they get nothing in the way of cash from the cup. I just wondered how much this mattered if everyone's in the same boat anyway?

Just want them to get their punishment for their relegation and losing significant sleep thinking that they mightn't receive it.

Good thing is their fans will have lost faith in them, hopefully this translates to poor sales next season if they're back in the premiership in front of fans.

They'll be all over the SFA's intrest free loan.
They'll have lost some money, like the rest of us but not enough to cripple them.

Agree with Hattie though, wouldn't have thought about it had you not brought it up 😁

I wouldn’t know and i wouldnt give an ounce of shit at the thought tbh. They are not worthy of any time in my head
I am struggling to get to grips with the pretence on this site that we give no thought to our main rivals, yet there is another post devoting so much attention to when they lose? It's natural to want them to perform poorly. Other teams get shit results, if you give Hearts not an ounce of shit of thought why all the excitement when they suffer?

It's ok to wish them maximum punishment for being relegated, just as it is from the lesser impact of losing to Brora/QOTS. Let's not pretend we don't think about them ever, because that certainly isn't true.

What i mean is i dont care a jot for their “problems”
But I most certainly do have a great laugh at their results on the park

Sorry, just can't agree with that viewpoint at all.
I don't give a toss about them, and rarely do I devote much thought to them at all.
I know for a fact that @1875 has a similar mindset, because when we were travelling to an away game together neither one of us even knew who the Gunts were playing, until Tom English advised us on the radio.
Yet tonight when my son informed me they'd been gubbed again - and to be honest neither of us knew who they were playing, we both laughed loudly and raised our glasses.
So, I reckon there's loads of us who simply don't give a fcuk about the weirdo team, yet fall about laughing at their numerous fails.

No pretence there mate; it's simply the way of the world.

In fact, there's probably loads of fans of other teams (notably St Midden) who also give not a solitary fcuk about them on a day to day basis, yet rejoice in their misadventures.
They are just as funny as fcuk. Smug arseholes who call their team 'The Famous' .... yet nobody else does, and the irony is totally lost on them.

Nope, no pretence at all.

That's fine, and I should clarify I don't think everyone on this site would have that pretence, however with their last two games being followed as they happen in much the same way as the Hibs games do, it can't be denied that several people are aware of who they're playing each week, and check the score throughout, even watch some games in the hope they are beaten, eg last year's cup final.

I'm not saying this is wrong, we have a rivalry with them so of course people will know a bit more about their goings on. I know several of their fans, as I'm sure we all do, and it's more fun knowing when they've had a defeat so you can rub it in.

Nothing wrong either way but I'd say if you enjoy a laugh at their misery, check out most of their last season and much of their recent form. You're missing out otherwise. It really is quite a good laugh.

I’m not ashamed to admit I do take quite a keen interest in their affairs, it has provided some great entertainment particularly in the past 18 months!

The circus that unfolded last year following their relegation brightened up an otherwise dull period where there was no live sport to watch at the beginning of Lockdown 1.

Knowing they got their arses handed to them, I’d have maybe watched it too!

But not having that knowledge, I’d have got more satisfaction viewing pornhub.

Wouldn’t have taken ninety fuckin minutes though.
