Will sign for Hibs as soon as he's fit
So he'll be fit if and when he comes here.
Will sign for Hibs as soon as he's fit
He had a back operation this week. He and Lennon have agreed he will rejoin us if he gets fit again.
Good stuff.
Saw the stitches on Twitter, might be a wee while
But potentially fully fit for first time in a couple of years. Not convinced. A year older and slower in a higher league. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I really hope this doesn't mean we aren't getting Hendo.
No way are we getting Commons, Stokes and Henderson.
2 out of 3 max
Why not mate?
Haven't seen the interview but here's my tuppence worth:
Kris Commons is a terrific player and if fully fit would be a big asset for us in our first season back. An experienced goalscoring midfielder who has played at a high level. Why then am I so unconvinced about all of this ? First of all there is the vagueness of it all. He has stated apparently that he will sign for Hibs if he gets fit. This implies that there is a chance he may never be fit again to play football. Back surgery is a serious and complicated procedure and things must have been bad because most doctors and surgeons are reluctant to operate on a back unless they absolutely have to. The other thing is when is he going to be fit again ?...he not only needs to recover properly from the op he then needs to get himself fit to play top level football then play a few games to get some sharpness back. He hasn't played a competitive game since he left Hibs in January.
I really hope Lennon is not holding back on what would be a considerable wage for a player like Commons to see if and when the guy is able to play for us..to the detriment of possibly signing other players who could come in straight away and who are fit and hungry to play.
Don't want to sound a doom and gloomer on all this...I rate Commons highly..I just can't help having some real doubts about this one.
Just seen the full interview and it's clear he's not interested in mucking us about. He also said the stitches seen on social media are already out. He's moved into film production which was the main reason why he was on the show. So we are not going to be his main source of income.

Studio guest on Sporstsound just now. He has said back operation was 3 weeks ago and was given a timesclae of 6-9 weeks to recover and be playing again. He reckons he is on point with training in gym and could be playing in about 5 weeks. Think he was a bit more cautious saying he is coming to Hibs for definate (not saw the other interview but he referred to it) he had a good time at ER and Hibs are trying to compete in the league, friends with Lennon etc etc.
He says his boots are not dirty enough to be hanging up just yet, sounds promising. I know he is a concern for some but without breaking bank which I doubt we would anyway. We might have a very useful player for the next season and a good model proffessional joining the coaching staff.

I hope we aren't waiting to see if he is going to be fit before we go for other targets. Interesting point was about wages which suggests nothing has been agreed.
We won't sign Hendo in this window mate,if we wait til Jan then we only have to pay compo.
Think it'll be the Lith Mid,Commons and Stokes we end up with
We can't get away with it now but he will be free to sign a pre contract in January...its possible that his current employer would prefer more money now for him from down south or elsewhere. Hate these phoney wars between clubs agents and players...Whatever the conpo would be, we would be as well offering it now? £300k?

Gotcha. Might be worth a punt...Yeah sorry, i meant offer them that in the region of a fee?
I think that will depend on SJM mate.
Will be amazed if he's still with us at the end of the window.

I'll be surprised if he's not.
I thought he would be gone this window but not too sure now. He is Celtic daft and will end up there but not right now.price tag is too high and celtic probably know he's not going to go and sit on bench. He is progressing at Hibs, not many players in the Scottish Championship get a national call up.Will be amazed if he's still with us at the end of the window.
