Neilson has never been popular with the Hearts fans. He has never been forgiven for losing to Hibs over two scottish cup cup-ties in 2016 with Hibs going on to lift the trophy. Absolutely the only thing Hearts had up to then over Hibs was their scottish cup record and that Hibs hadn't won it for 114 years. They actually blamed Neilson for this "bragging right" ending. They were flying planes over Tynecastle with trailing banners calling for his sacking back then. Nothing has changed since then in their dislike of him. As for Budge, she rode to their rescue when nobody else would touch them with a bargepole after the Romanov fiasco. Yes, she is a bit out of her depth running one of Scotland's biggest clubs, but she deserves a bit more respect from them than she is being given. She made mistakes, Levein getting far too much power, and appointing a loony like Stendel being the main ones.
Their club will shortly be handed over to their fans anyway...let's see how that massive gamble works out.
Yes, it was a terrible result for them getting knocked out the SC in the first round by part-time Brora Huns who had hardly played a game for three months, but the over-reaction just now of their fans is ridiculous IMO. They are about to be promoted back to the top league, that's all that should really matter to them at this time.
Delusions of grandeur and an arrogant superiority complex is Hearts biggest problem and always has been. They seriously think they stand alone as Scotland's third biggest club, and unfortunately certain half-wit pundits, former players and media types continue to inflate this ridiculous notion. They are a big club, but have never been any bigger than Hibs or Aberdeen. All three of these clubs have suffered humiliating cup defeats over the years, but we just pick ourselves up and try to improve and move on. That's what they should do. For as long as they are stuck in this self-important delusion regarding where they stand in the general scheme of things in scottish football they will never progress.
