Deadline Day - 31 January 2022

I dont really see us playing with wingers tbh, I'd be surprised if we brought one in.

Not wingers, but based on what we saw against Dundee United I think we’ll play with a front three. The wider two will be narrow and closer to the centre forward, not like traditional wingers. I don’t think it’ll be rigid positions though.

I expect the real width will come from the wing backs.

Yeah, I see them as quite a tight triangle, but more of a 2 forwards and an attacking midfielder than a couple wide players and a forward.
The width will definitely come from the wingbacks though.

I do like the range of options we have though, players that are comfortable all over the front line should make for a dynamic playing style.

You can add Joel Valencia of Brentford to the rumours list.

At the grand old age of 27 he's ancient 😆

We have 3 goalkeepers already...

There’s always room to upgrade on what we have and move a player out, that’s true of any position during the transfer window.

Mitchell is here as a third choice so don’t imagine he’d go anywhere, so if there was a new signing it would either be Macey or Dabrowski to leave.

Mitchell is here as 3rd choice as you say
Dabrowski has done nothing wrong, did well on loan and i would like him to get a chance for Hibs against Cove in the cup
Macey - Rocky was a hard act to follow but I think he has done fine apart from the kicking which isn't a deal breaker meantime.

I think all 3 are out of contract at the end of next season so we have 18 months to decide who's staying and who's going.
I can't see it being a priority for Maloney at the moment. He might feel different after assessing all 3 over the next 4 months though.

Agree it’s not a priority position this window, but I still think if there’s a good option out there it was silly for the club to pass it up.

I don't suppose clubs ever stop looking for players better than the ones they have in all positions.
Obviously all ambition to sign up better players is tempered by transfer fees and wages.
Only Macey of the goalkeepers will be on a good wage so we are not burning unnecessary cash on the position at the moment.

Pish according to Patrick.

Wiki says he was criticised at Brentford for finding the game too fast for him,so that's a no from me.

McPake wants Scotty

McPake wants Scotty
And Doidge.

And Daz

Dundee got any money?
I don't think there's any players I'd take to cover any of them.
McMullan looks an okay player, but not a Hibs player.

I'd keep Doidge, can't see Daz leaving and I think it would benefit Scott leaving if he wants game time.

And Doidge.
No chance of that

Says he wants more game time, so there maybe something in it.

He’s just recovering from a long time out injured/absent - if he’s saying he wants game time he needs to look at why he hasn’t been playing.

I’m think that too

Although we only appear to play with one out and our centre forward it would still leave us a bit short of options with only Nisbet (who has been very inconsistent), Scott (who’s shown nothing so far) and Melkersen (who is young and has no experience in this league) as our strikers.

That said if Maloney doesn’t see Doidge fitting in then it would make sense for the big man to go out on loan, as he needs games to fully recover from his injury.

Personally I’d keep him.

Understandable position from Hibs on both players.

Surely we can afford another hairdryer.

Aye good one Dundee thinking they can get Doidge - dream on.

If Doidge is to leave then I would imagine we will bring someone else in, I personally don’t think we are finished in this window and by that I mean players leaving for others to come in.

Think Dundee would have been looking for a cheeky loan deal. It was never going to happen.

It would have to be a permanent deal 👍

Reckon this too, someone to replace Leigh for the season. Probably Jase too if he doesn't make it up to James.

Can't see Dundee affording a permanent deal for him.

Scott on loan with a pre contract sounds quite feasible though.

Last time Scott was there he didn’t exactly set the heather alight, then again it was under that prick McCann.

Hibs have said Doidge isn't leaving. How can he say he wants more game time when he's just come back from a long term injury?

Seen that and thought the same as others, pretty muchpaper talk from people who don't know the situation around his injury.

We did say we weren't interested.

St Mirren also interested in Scott Allan. It seems likely he’ll depart this month.
