Corona virus on its own thread.

To be fair Ryan probably has a standard grade in drama so not only kens stuff but how to present that to an audience.

If you are reading this thread, then make sure you do your research on researching research sources... an' that.

Do your research mate.

I ask you something.
Was 9/11...how you were told?
On 9/11, what is your theory there?
It never happened , it was all simulation?
The yanks did themselves?
Israel did it?
or am I massively missing your point?

Scientists catagorically say no, however like you I have little faith in these fuckin fraudulent fakers Ryan. What do you think amigo .......

Been noticing a lot of empty shelves and lack of certain products in shops like Tesco and Asda over the past months, why is this? Covid or Brexshit?

Not just drivers. Those pesky Europeans who did the jobs we couldn't/ wouldn't do have gone back to their own or other European countries to do these jobs.

From ONS February 2020*.
Main points for October to December 2019

There were an estimated 29.33 million UK nationals working in the UK, a record high and 227,000 more than a year earlier.

There were an estimated 2.31 million EU nationals working in the UK, 36,000 more than a year earlier.

There were an estimated 1.34 million non-EU nationals working in the UK, 49,000 more than a year earlier.

You can't take that number, or even a decent part of that number, out the workforce without it making a significant impact.

*No figures have been published since although they were probably due a couple of months after each quarter since then.

Surprised the government haven't offered to pay for people to get an HGV license..would help with unemployment rate too. But I suspect there will also be red tape with lorries abroad and how much time drivers can spend in Europe thoigh I dont know

Saw the an owner of a fish factory in Fraserburgh and the heid of the Scottish Fishermen's Federation, greeting there eyes out about labour shortages. Both proud Brexiteers. Dry yer eyes.

Circuit breaker being considered for coming weeks, going up the tiers again apparently, indoor gathering bans, sport arenas capped again and so on, just need to get on with life now, can't do this forever

They do any of that we will be living with restrictions forever. Businesses will suffer, football clubs will suffer , mental health will suffer

Hospital numbers are not out of control so I don't see a reason for it

Exactly, we need to learn to live with it, Covid isn't just going to disappear, it will likely be here forever now, we don't know anything until we put the vaccine to the test so just get on with it I say.

Exactly, if the double jag doesn't prevent people getting it then we have to live with it. There is a world of difference between mild and severe symptoms, the stats regarding infections does not tell the whole story, and if the worst cases are in people who refuse to get vaccinated then that is their choice, the rest should not have to suffer. I have had 2 call offs at work this week with either covid or self isolation, none are serious

Won't happen IMO.

I really hope not. The phrase 'circuit breaker' fills me with fear, given how last autumn's two week circuit breaker quickly turned into pretty much all out lockdown until this spring.

I'm with others on this. Folks who have done everything that's asked of them shouldn't be punished (and it feels like punishment) because of the actions of those who refuse to get vaccinated. If vaccine passports or whatever were brought in I dare say a lot who haven't bothered so far would soon be rushing to get jagged. That kind of thing should be considered first before shutting us all back up in our houses.

Agree.
Bring the passports in so that the ones that have decided to go get jagged to help get things back to normal can carry on doing so.

Anyone that doesn't want to get vaccinated thats their choice but don't punish us that have. Either get jagged or stay in the house

Labour shortages has sweet fuck all to do with Brexit. It's about shit wages and conditions. And these Islington type Guardian columnists yet again miss the point. Here's yet again another instance of these so called representatives and voices of the left from trade unions and Labour entirely missing the point. Get working class kids trained up and pay them a decent wage. But no fuck that eh. They'd rather uproot some family from elsewhere in Europe and celebrate that they're been paid a "Living wage".

Brexit. Lack of hgv drivers cause all fucked off hame
Because hauliers wont pay decent wages and nobody , govt or employers will invest in decent facilities. They'd much rather have cheap east european drivers that are quite happy to work for fuck all, park up in laybys ( and get their diesel nicked), cook at the side of their lorries and shit in the bushes but I suppose it's just easier to blame brexit for all the worlds injustices

The unvaccinated filling up our hospitals means that those of us double jagged can't get in for our cancer treatments, hip replacements etc..

The mood on here has certainly changed re vaccine passports, which I've been a supporter of all along, when it was 1st mooted it was howled down because of human rights , discrimination etfuckincetera .
Well what about the human rights of those that have done as they're told and been double jagged.
I certainly dont want to be limited to what I can do because selfish bastards have decided the Jags no' for them

ID and official confirmation certificate should be made mandatory for the foreseeable future, should waken those anti vaccers up.

Load o shite.

Load o shite.
Pardon ???

Load o shite.
Bit harsh.
I assume you feel Covid isn’t a threat to you due to age/health etc.
Which is fair enough if a bit selfish.
Personally I’m at the other end of the spectrum re age/health so I’m all for ‘encouraging’ vaccination.

Selfish?

Of course.
But no more than those who refuse the jag.

I have had my first jab. 2nd one in a couple of weeks.
I am all for encouraging vaccs. I support front line NHS workers, and my organisation was leading in Convalescent Plasma (which unfort didnt work as the world intended it to, but it has opened other fields in Plasma collection), hugely benefitting our society.

The poster is calling folks bastards, and how (i presume) he feels that his human rights have been violated because other folks dont get a fuckin jab. Thats simply a bag o shite.

Should we extend this type of shite to include eg Flu jabs etc etc. Its a very sticky path to start down, and my only conclusion is a very dystopian future.

A business should have the right to say we do not want your custom if you cant produce some sort of vaccination evidence, similarly, a business shoul have the right to say we do not need a record of vaccination to receive your custom.

I would love everyone to get a jab, for the whole world to be vaccinated, but people have the right not to be also! I stand by the boys post being a bag o shite :54:

good story. cheers

Nearly 7,000 cases today, ooft. I think the record was about 4,200 before this week.

Should be hitting herd immunity pronto at that rate.

Probably get a lockdown by the time the Derby comes in two weeks, would just be out luck.

I'll reserve the right to change my mind about anything I like, especially in a constantly changing situation such as this.

Initially I'd presumed the vaccine would stop the spread of the virus.

My current thinking is that vaccine passports are a waste of time given being vaccinated does little to prevent you either getting or transmitting the disease.

I suspect (given they do feck all) they are being used in order to encourage more people to get vaccinated, which I find acceptable. Once that's done, they'll be dropped.

Another reason I was against them initially is I imagined a scenario where everyone would carry a difficult to fake card, without which you'd be unable to go to basic things like a pub, restaurant, gym etc. That's not the case and for some reason it's only large, often outdoor events where you're less likely to get Covid anyway.

All of this really just confirms that the governments have given up trying to stop the disease. It's now just a matter of time for most of us.

With furlough ending at the end of September
With hospital admission and icu levels well under control.

Nah can't see it

Cases will go up and down , more vaccinations and then immunity from those that have had the virus
Just need to get on with it

Hope not but if cases keep rising I wouldn't be surprised

Figures for West Lothian should be looking good seeing as there's apparently not a single testing site in the county. Even the one at Livingston FC has disappeared off the booking system.

I thinks it’s the opposite, it’s gone mental and places are full up?

I think there's testing centres also at Carmondean and Crofthead for those around Livi area.

I guess it must be, but airport was showing on list even though it wouldn't let me book. Nowhere in West Lothian was, ended up in Dunfermline.

You don't have to book - just walk in.
