Wanting to get a new Zitelli.

Got SKY Q and watching Netflix/YouTube though that through my current Smart TV. Now realising though that there's a difference between an Android TV and Smart TV.

I'm a Android phone user and the greater flexibility is appealing.

Anyone got thoughts, opinions or experience of both that can give advice?

My advice would be to get yourself a firestick and a reliable IPTV service (Apollogroup) which you can also use on your android phone and use the money you save from ditching Sky to get a nice new Ravanelli. Sorry if thats not the advice you wanted to hear but i think you can pick up a really decent TV now for £300 or thereabouts. I have friends who handover a ridiculous amounts to Sky every month which i can't get my head around.

Does firestick work with both Smart and Android TV? How does a firestick work for TV?

Any more you can tell about Apollo group?

Thanks.

A firestick works like any other device you plug in via HDMI.
Juat connect to your WiFi and you'll have all the web player apps and Netflix etc in one place.

I'd double check but, I think an android TV can install IPTV onto it instead of needing the firestick. I think the firestick is just an android device anyway.

So firestick just goes into any telly?

Aye, long as you've a spare HDMI port.

ANY TV with a hdmi port.

If you have a decent sized wall, get a 4k projector. Firestick plugs in for IPTV and you can turn it off and hide it away when not using it. Pretty decent having a 100'' image too. Not for everyone mind.

Out of interest, how much would a decent one cost? Also, do you need the room to be in darkness to get a decent picture?

I just got a cheap one recently - APEMAN LC550 and its cracking. Its perfect for kids room and has a great picutre, the fan is a bit loud if nothing is playing though but it only cost me 60 quid. If it was for my living room I'd probably go for something with 8000 lumens which would be about 250 notes. I think the more lumens the better for not needing the room so dark, if you get me.

Does anyone know much about fixing a firestick?. I've got two; the one in my flat is working well, the one at my mum's was working but now it's ceased. I've tried all the instructions but no joy. Unplugged it, plugged it back in, taken the batteries out the stick put them back in, looked at my account, everything I can think of but nothing. Any ideas?

I've been telling you to get a firestick for yonks ya radge. get IPTV and give me the stick and my bro will put extra stuff on it for you. You won't need Netflix or amazon prime or anything else you pay to use to watch boxsets or films [allegedly] There are free sports channels he can put on it as well though not sure what sports they get exactly.
