Been rank rotten for weeks now and needs dropped. Or is there nobody to give him real competition that he just walks into the team regardless.

He does need dropped, as does any player who consistently under performs.
I'd try Mallan behind the strikers.
I thought he caused them problems yesterday but his touch has been really poor.
The thing is, he gives us pace and even when not playing well teams try to nullify him. I would stick with him for the time being.
Not for me we need better.
Possibly but we have limited other options just now. Mallan has definite assets i.e. good passing and shooting.....but not from playing deep lying midfield roles as too often he has been.
See, I think he did, especially the 2nd half.He never once took his man on, his cross to Nisbet and maybe one other cross was all he done all game, their player Kingsley was touch and go from being fit, fucking take him on FFS

He is certainly no where near his best but he is our most potent weapon when on form. He can’t be far from being dropped, then again he might not be far from hitting form again. Difficult decision to be honest.
I think we were watching the same game. I think I maybe watch the game a bit closer than you though.Don’t know what game you were watching, apart from the two crosses he done nothing else and has been like that for a while now.

His class pass to Murphy who's shot was blocked but goal bound.
No at all Family. I thought Murphy done ok when he came on though.I think you are getting confused between Boyle and Murphy, Boyle was shite last night, but he wasn’t the only one but this thread is about Boyle only.
Boyle played some great crosses in first half and then disappeared for the rest of the game.

I also don’t think anyone was “shite” last night although young Doig really struggled. Collectively we could have been better but for me it all came down to too many missed chances.
I would still stick with Boyle for a bit yet but he can’t complain if he is dropped based on his form over the last few weeks.

So making 3 outstanding chances and strikers fluffing it should the other players on the end of them no be called out? (One was a wonder save)
He did go in and out the game, pretty much like all wingers.
Murphy caused them more problems from the time he was on the pitch compared to the poor performance from Boyle all game with the exception of a couple of crosses. He will get away with it because there isn’t any real competition.
Boyle was decent first half then faded. He’s been ‘off the Boyle’ recently but I’d hope he keeps his place and plays through a bad patch. He’s certainly not “shite” and his mere presence scares many defenders.
Personally I thought Porto was our ‘worst’ on the day, if we are obliged to pick someone to criticise.
Thats utter bullshit.
His presence didn’t put any fear into them last night, in fact I would say the opposite as he never actually took their player Kingsley on once for pace. As he said he wasn’t the only one last night but this thread is about Boyle.
Thanks for pointing that out to me.
I’d actually worked that out for myself, the thread title being “Boyle” was a bit of a clue.
Can you maybe clarify the guidelines a bit more so I don’t write anything that’s likely to lead to a ban or at least a pretty stiff admonition.
You mentioned @Smurf so a fuckin yellow card right back at ya.But you mentioned Porteous on a Boyle thread.
That's a blue card, surely? You mentioned @Smurf so a fuckin yellow card right back at ya.

You also mentioned Murphy the Hibs player, so that’s a yellow and a blue card.Didn’t know he was a Hibs player or played last night, well I say played more turned up ?

Poor disciplinary record.
Poor disciplinary record.
@Smurf was correct you are completely stupid if you think otherwise, Murphy took them on and not only on one occasion either.
And created how many chances exactly?
I watched his interview and thought "be good to see some talking on the park" as he let it be known he hopes to move onto the 'bigger and better' things in the pre match build up of a semi final against them... And again this highlights the difference between us and them approaching these games. Could you imagine one of their players talking that way before facing us?Going by his interview with Mikey Stewart he believes in his own hype, when he got his new deal sorted I really hoped we would get the old Boyle back but truthfully he hasn’t improved at all. Wright will never offer any real competition either.
Are you honestly saying Murphy didn’t give us more of a threat when he came on ?
Did he create any chances?
Put a few good balls in.
Granted he drifted out, but when you have a weapon teams worry about, you use it.
Exactly. Mind folk would say "Aye Riordan scored two but did nothing else....". Now two crosses is good enough... His touch last night was horrendously heavy. He's been poor all season. I'd suggest he thinks he's arrived. I'd drop him.He put in two crosses and totally disappeared, some weapon that.
