Available in the summer that would improve us;

Steven Lawless
Rickie Lamie
Andy Halliday
Mikel Miller
Alex Gogic
Stephen O’Donnell
Gary Dicker
Valcav Hladky

Thoughts?

Fair chance we will be after Mikel Miller again as we tried to sign him in January. He was injured for a while just before the season stopped. Gogic and O'Donnell would be good additions as well.

You are right about Miller, Gogic always impressed when I seen him but so did Dicker at Killie.

And halliday??? No way

I don’t like him either, but I think he would be a good addition to the Bartley or Milligan role that we were lacking.

Not for me at all

Not for me at all

Fair enough, he will probably end up down south or in the USA

That St Mirren goalie will have his pick, I doubt we'd even come close in wages offered. O'Donnell at Killie is another free agent I'd love to see here but also unlikely.

Hayes (Celtic), Miller (Accies), Dikamona (Gunts) and Wright (St J) would all be welcome.

Hayes not for me, or the Gunt either and I haven’t seen enough of the lad Wright.

Halliday, no, not because is a Hun Bastard, but he is fucking rubbish.

Fair enough, anyone else on the list that would improve us?

Steven Lawless - Decent
Mikel Miller - Linked already
Alex Gogic - Not sure but centre back is a role we could add to, replacement for Daz, he is hard.
Stephen O’Donnell - Is the best of them, good player, hope he signs, I know he would be happy to play for Hibs, as one of our fellow bouncers is related to him.
Valcav Hladky - Good goalie, possibly Hun bound?

Gary Dicker?

I think Gogic can play the holding midfield player.

Too old.

Didn’t know he is 33

Fair enough but I find preferring Utility/Left-Back Haliday to Utility/Left-Back Hayes pretty incredible.

If we are looking for more pace we shouldn’t rule out Rolando Aarons who was on loan at Motherwell.

Johnny Hayes would be a tremendous signing if we could get him. I know he is cracking on a bit, but you do need some old heids in your team and he has played at a good level for quite a few years and is a very good player. Gogic I think is more of a holding, battling midfielder and we certainly need that going by last season's evidence.
What we really require in our team though is leadership. An experienced heid in the middle of the park to control things and hold things together when we are under pressure.
Pace is always welcome where ever it comes from...for me you can't ever get enough pace into your team. Full-backs are another key positions we are going to have to get right for next season. Lewis has been a tremendous servant to the club, is a club legend, and hopefully still has a few years left in him at this level. By his standards he had a poor season last term but I am still convinced that was down to spending the entire pre-season injured. At 32 he is on the way down as is every player at that age. Ross has to decide if he can either get a better left-back than him from elsewhere or is Sean Mackie ready to come in and replace him ? If neither of those is an option then Lewis should stay as first choice left-back. A fit Sir David would also be my first choice a right-back, but if he is unable to play much more, then Jason Naismith I think is a decent option there if we can agree terms with him.

I think Hayes will end up elsewhere, I agree I also think Gogic would play that holding role really well, we also need a leader won who gets the players up for every game. Sadly I don’t think Mackie is good enough for us so that would be a position that needs filled, Lewis getting older and personally I didn’t rate Naismith in that role either, he was ok going forward but not so good at defending.

Hayes is still a player, I think even though he played further back at Celtic, he could still do a job on the wing. Not 90 minutes every week, but he's a tricky direct player.
Something about the left hand side of the park that we can never address properly.

I'd also like to see us sign Naismith, I thought he was decent, had a touch of Daz abouy him and you can never have too many players in the squad who can attack the ball in the air.

I hope we don't go for Halliday, wasn't he the chief Hun in the Hunco-rner for them trying to sign Scott Allan, best pals or no, fuck you pal.

Here is the release list: Scottish Premiership: Which players will be out of contract? - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52789470

Fun game - make a team from it.

Hladky
O'Donnell Simouovic Diakomona Hayes
Gogic Lawless
Wright Andreu Miller
Menga

Not a lot of strikers to choose from but Menga is good at making space for my goal scoring mids.

Reckon that 11 would do pretty well.

O’Donnell is good player but meant to be keen on move to English championship, definitely take him

I suspect your source is similar to my own R?

Has a solid offer from a Scottish premiership team but, as Robbie indicates, they're not where he necessarily sees himself going at the moment. A bigger SPFL club than the one he has an offer from might be tempting or back down south.

Fantastic to see a post from you my friend. Keep well!

Craig "Spotty" Gordon.

Ross Stewart being mentioned as a target, must mean the Nisbet deal is off.

Dundee United in for Nisbet apparently. Maybe Hibs don't fancy getting into a bidding war with a club backed by a rich American.

JR has worked with him before.

We went all out to get Nisbet in the last window, I just find it strange we are prepared to let him go without a fight when Flo will be leaving. Isn’t Stewart a big laddie as well similar style to Doidge?

He is, but I think Ross will start to change Hibs style next season as he starts to get his own players in and gets (hopefully) a few of the youth academy players into the first team squad...This will actually be essential as there won't be a lot of money available.
It will be the beginning of Jack Ross's team being put together rather than the one he inherited from the last three managers.

I was thinking there maybe interest in Doidge elsewhere as we are also in for Miller at Hamilton.

Miller is more of a winger though is he not ?. really good player though and I hope we get him.
We certainly need three strikers at least competing for front places. Gullan hopefully will become a starter next season and Doidge notched up 18 goals so hopefully he will still be around. I thought we might be back in for Kevin Nisbet again.

Seemingly Boro are interested in Stewart so it’s safe to say we can forget it.

Apparently Gogic ready to start training with us whenever it is we resume.

And someone else mentioned Dikamona from Hearts.. is that the boy that binned his contract and said he'd go back after the whole covid thing was done. Almost be worth it to annoy them, only seen him play against us though, was okay once I think. ?‍♂️

They just say he is a defender, any idea what position?

He’s described as a right footed centre back but played as defensive mid last season.

Played the holding midfield role very well where we are lacking.
