Would have been delighted to have seen hendo sign but I wasn't expecting him or anyone else in before the window shuts
For once it feels good watching the clock tick down without clutching at straws and desperate for hibs to get players in only to end up deflated when we don't
For me this transfer window has actually went beyond what I expected and we have built the finest squad in a good few years and all without spending way above ourselves

It just didn't happen mate, talks were ongoing today

Celtic don't want to sell Henderson it's as simple as that...and certainly not to another Scottish club.
They rate him highly...just not highly enough for him to play in their high quality midfield just now.
I would imagine they would possibly have been open to a loan move, but I very much doubt Henderson himself would have wanted that again, nor Hibs for that matter...he would not have been able to play against Celtic for a start. He's in a bad situation for his development as a player, but he will be on a very good wage at Celtic for a player of his age, however he will not be playing much football for them this season.

I like and rate Liam Henderson as a player and would love to see him back at Hibs sometime but to be perfectly honest I am more bothered by the fact that we have not recruited another striker which is for me more of a concern at the moment. Allowing Brian Graham to leave has left us light up front for places with only three recognised first team strikers, IMO every major club needs four strikers vying for places up front and to provide proper competition. With Oli Shaw now on crutches as well the need is even more profound and I am genuinely surprised we have not moved to bring another striker in.

Btw delighted that McGinn is staying. Hopefully an extension to his current contract will be signed which (similar to Cummings) will allow him to go next summer with Hibs recouping a large transfer fee and St Mirren also getting their cut.

And next summer's one after that. Love all the In The Know delivery nods and winks. Shame to miss out on them every 6 months.

Rocky was on loan too last season

Good mind. Still, that one shows even more how bad these loans last season were

I think we could have done with another forward but I'm confident Stokes, Murray & Matulevicius can provide us with enough fire power. Boyle can play upfront too, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Commons return who would provide goals from midfield. McGinn, Barker, Swanson & Slivka should all really be adding goals to the team as well.

Agree and disagree. I just don't think three strikers is enough and we should have brought in a replacement for Graham even someone on loan as cover. I don't think Martin Boyle is a striker in a million years...he an exciting, skilful, tenacious and pacy winger with an bit of an eye for goal and that is it. He doesn't know how to play the striker role properly IMO. If Stokes or Murray suffer any sort of long term injury we will be really struggling in that area IMO. I am also very sceptical about Commons returning to Hibs...in fact I have real doubts he will be able to play top level football again anywhere after major back surgery. I do agree with you wholeheartedly that McGinn, McGeogh, Boyle, Slivka & co are going to have to contribute their fare share of goals this season from midfield.

Getting Liam and/or losing SJM.

I'm happier with what we have.

That's been 3 transfer windows already!

Should be a 3 strikes and yer oot policy for some ITK-ers!

We've had a Swanson one every window since I started on the bounce.
Got there in the end :giggle:

suppose we might pick up another striker who is a free agent after the window slams shut.

All in all we've had an outstanding transfer window. Would've loved Henderson back and wouldn't have minded another striker - but that's nit picking. We are in great shape... with the best squad I've seen us have in years.

That's where I'm at bud
The best bit of business this deadline day was telling forest to get tae!!! And keeping SJM which will do me

100% mate. A good season in this league will do him no harm at all. I love that we did our business early, rather than scurrying around late on, signing journeymen from the likes of Raith.....

We have done well in this window in that we have strengthened every area of the team/squad and we have brought in some experienced quality players to help us in our first season back in the top flight. Whether or not it's been a great window though will ultimately depend on how well we do this season and where we end up in the league come next May.

This ! Where did we realistically expect to finish this season before the transfer window opened ?? Top six ... maybe ?
Where do we expect to finish now ? Top six for sure. This has been a very good window ? Lets just enjoy :kos:

Debut was a disaster for him, 4-0 defeat at home, booked and taken off in under an hour.

Be at Hibs in the summer  :coffee:

It wouldn’t surprise me if this actually happens. Saves us paying a development fee to thellic too

3 and a half year deal out there.
Doubt it.

Celtic let him go for free as well I hear
